My artistic practice is a response to the constraints of ableism and the boundaries placed on bodies, particularly those of disabled individuals. As a disabled artist, I seek to challenge the norms of art and performance, inviting audiences into spaces that defy traditional expectations. Central to my work is the concept of horizontalism—an embodied act of reclining that symbolises interconnectedness with nature and the dissolution of hierarchical structures. Through sound, performance, video, and costume, I create immersive, multisensory environments where the audience can experience art in a deeply personal, transformative way.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and environmental awareness. I believe art has the power to shape the way we view our bodies, the world around us, and our collective responsibility towards the environment. Drawing on my dual heritage—Cumbria and Seychelles—I explore themes of identity, migration, and the natural world, incorporating these narratives into every aspect of my practice.

Whether exploring the complexities of chronic pain in BodyVice, the legacy of my family in Marra!, or the environmental themes in SPUME, my work is an invitation to question, reflect, and experience the world differently. Through collaborations with other artists, activists, and communities, I aim to create art that not only engages the senses but also sparks a deeper conversation about access, care, and the changing relationship between humanity and the environment.
