Cj Pitcher is a multidisciplinary artist based in North Cumbria, exploring themes of materials, ceremonies, and rituals, with a particular focus on Nuclear Semiotics—the study of long-term nuclear waste warning systems. Their practice spans bricolage sculpture, photography, and text, creating dynamic, thought-provoking works that challenge perceptions and spark dialogue.
Cj has been awarded artist residencies at the University of Cumbria's School of Education, Arts and Society, and TIDAL with Signal Film and Media. They won first place in the West Coast Photo Festival Open Call and have exhibited in group shows across the UK, contributing writings to international projects. In addition to their artistic practice, Cj is actively involved in workshops, artist talks, and inclusive arts, serving as a trustee for Prism Arts.
